My 13 week nutrition and lifestyle education programme for people living with diabetes was officially launched in January 2014, alongside my book 'the 6 diet' which underpins RebalanceDiabetes.
This was following 2 pilot groups held in York from August 2013. Those groups proved that people with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes could achieve much better clinical outcomes than by just following their usual NHS care and advice.
Typically we saw
a marked drop in blood sugar, measured via HbA1c tests carried out at GP surgeries or at a diabetes unit in a hospital
healthy fat loss (fat loss and weight loss are not always the same thing!)
increased energy, vitality and a heightened sense of well-being.

“I was diagnosed with type two several years ago and, despite my very best attempts to get my blood sugar under control I couldn’t get my levels below 16, 17, 18 or even 19, and 20 which is dangerously high.
